No, the manual is most definitely LSD. The Torsen style LSD isn't a full lock-up type of diff and can only bias the torque to around 80/20, so it's still possible to spin one wheel in situations of very limited grip.

FYI as far as the ST215 goes, all GT's had LSD, all Manual GT-Ts had LSD, the rest were open. you can check the specs for yourself at http://english.auto.vl.ru/catalog/toyot ... na/1997_9/

I also seem to recall the old TRD part no's for the ST215W rear LSD and the ST205 rear LSD were the same no's.

Indeed it was, and it was a clutch pack diff, so full lock-up was possible, sadly though it's now a discontinued item. :evil:

ah ok, so why do only the autos have VSC and traction control?
what does the vsc do?

vsc is a stability control that balances yaw (skidding) by operating individual brakes, not much use at low speed, but kicks ass around centenial park in the wet. kinda spazzes out if you try doing handbrakes too!
