just the spec of the engine bay dimension because i would like to know if there is any need of wall trimming to enable the 4age engine to be mounted. NA set-up only and im thinking of the blacktop with its 6speed transxle. thanks guys

At the time we were running our EP71 Rally car (early 90's) there was talk of a courier in Auckland who had inserted a 4AGE in his.
Word was that there significant chassis modifications required. I never saw the conversion, or any others since, so can't confirm but if it was/is the case getting a cert may be an issue today.

Our certifier told us that as long as you replace the strength you remove by cutting and shutting, you're sweet.

Here's what we're doing on a KP

ok so basically as long as the trimmed walls had been replaced with the correct thickness sheet steels and a professional weld it'll be sweet, right? so how are you going with your KP SR20DE/T? build up?

I think there might be a difference in the low volume certifiers attitude between enlargening an existing hole in the bulkhead & altering a chassis rail.
You'd be well advised to talk to the engineer first.

But first you should find out if the work is actually necessary. Get your tape measure out and take a few measurements.
