rebuilding silvertop?

hey,

my silvertop 20v blows abit ( ) of blue smoke under full throttle
possible problem? is a DIY rebuild worth it or slap in a blacktop? any1 got instructions/ideas what needs replacing in current engine etc. cheers

Probably rings of valve stem seams on the way out. Either way you'll need the head off which means new head gasket etc etc etc

Depend if you reckon the price of a second hand blacktop outweighs the price of a freshly rebuilt silvertop

Yep I agree if you could do most yourself apart from any machine work. Drop it off in town with some parts from revhead and I'd hate to see the bill for labour

that depends.... the price of buying a b/t inc loom and ecu is well over a grand...... it would depend on what machining is needed, and how well you know the ppl doing it....

id estimate the cost of a conversion to be $1500-2000ish
