Spark plugs dying

Postby Caveman » Tue Aug 09, 2005 8:52 am

Hi

my mates car keeps killing spark plugs. We've replace about 2 sets in 4 weeks. Did a compression test and all cylinders are 150psi after about 4 cranks.

The old spark plugs oil up then died, they new ones have gone really white. WTF?

The engine is a SR20DET with a T28.

Doesn't white plugs mean they are getting way to hot, probably because of running lean. They go black when running rich.

You best check out the a/f mixtures or your going to be up for more than just spark plugs if it is running very lean.

Yes its very odd.

I think the turbo may be on its last legs causing all sorts of problems. Other than that theres nothing else much wrong with it.

I might check he isnt using 91 8O I wouldnt put it past him lol

I'll find out more information tonight.
