How low are you planning to go, my liftback has the same set-up as the sedans and getting 17's with 205's to turn full lock, and not get guard rub at all even with people in the back was a mission...so with 215's it going to be just that little bit worse.

I found you need to go $&#$% low with 17's to stop it looking stupid, they are just too big for the car.

As for your problem, the chances are you are using a FWD offset set of rims, so they won't fit onto the front without some bolt-on spacers, which are a couple of hundred usually, and require certification.

You have to get some spacers made by a certified engineer, should cost around about $200 a corner!!!! (thats what I was quoted by Elite in chch)

Nah you'll need bolt on spacers if they are a decent FWD offset, like 25mm ones at least.

You can pick them up second hand for $150 odd for a pair from time to time.

sorry that was what I was meaning. You'll probably need to have bolt on flares so that the tyre (depending on the width) doesnt exceed past the "body" of the car. This helps avoid fines of around $200

Should be OK with 215's on factory guards provided they sit nice and close to the strut, so only get spacers just wide enough to clear the strut, then just roll the guards fully and cut the outside edge off the plastic inner guard in the front, should elminate most of the rub.

The ass end can be a bitch because of the torsion bar causing the whole set-up to shift over when you lower it, meaning the wheel sits way closer to the guard on one side...

Get an adjustable panhard rod to re-centre the diff, very common problem with a lot of cars. Watts linkage solves this, but probably not worth the work for an old KE70.

20 or 25 will probably do the trick, but of course this depends entirely on the offset of the wheels you are trying to fit, You need to get out there & do some measuring. Anything anyone says on here is purely a guess

Get some of those spacers that are a few mm thick, or maybe just washers and work out how many you need to fit them. Then measure up the total thickness and get bolt on spacers that thickness.
