Silicon gasket shyte...

Postby Dell'Orto » Thu Aug 18, 2005 10:30 pm

In an effort to stop this bloody oil line leak from my turbo, Im gonna be lazy and use some silicon gasket goo stuff.
Its rated to 260° continuous...will it be enough? I wouldnt think that area of the turbo would get that hot, but could it?

Ive used the high temp silicone on several turbos without issue. Just make sure you clean the surfaces good and dont apply too much soas it squeses into the lines.
Cant believe im still a member here.

I realise replacing the gasket would be a preferable option, but I'm not going to because:

A. I cant be assed cutting out a gasket (its late, and I'm lazy)
B. I refuse to pay Toyota $13.60+ for said gasket
C. I'm selling the car, so its not such a concern.

Thanks for the feedback.
