Random FXGT questions

Postby DRFTIN » Thu Aug 18, 2005 12:57 am

just picked up the new AE92 FXGT tonight and i got a few Q's...

is an auto car different in any other ways? (ECU, engine etc)

will a blue top computer run a red top properly? i know there are differences but not sure how the computer effects them

will AE82 clutch lines and pedals etc fit the AE92?

if i take the tail light section off the boot what will be underneath it? my sister has the NZ new version of the same car  and it has no tail lights on the boot, which looks much better, just wondering if i can make it look similar

if i add some nawsss and some TRD and mugen stickers will i get 500kw more? :P

i know most of these things can be worked out if i get off my ass and try them, but hopefully someone can save me having to need to

ECU won't work as it's programmed for a different generation motor. Also you would need some serious hacking to be done afaik to be able to make the loom plug in.

The only difference between auto and manual would be box/diff/ecu etc. Things you wouldn't normally notice when just looking at the car but are different. When you are looking for visible differences between cars compare different models of the same car...

I'm pretty sure the pedals etc should work between the models and in the off chance that it won't there will be very minimal modification involved in making them fit. I'm not sure about clutch lines though as I don't know wether the AE92 is hydrolic or not...

Finally there are rumors that a rear quarter window TRD sticker has proven dyno results of around 45-50whp. TRD sticker across windscreen however will give better results as has been proven many times on the dyno aswel....

i think genral rule of thumb is auto cars will lose a higher % of drive train loss than a manual.

So in short

yes thats why it seems slower..

and my question about whether auto cars are different i was meaning is there a power drop or anything, like i've heard some auto cars have

Theres about a 30% loss of power through an automatic transmission, and a 10% loss with a manual.
