Is there any difference between the wiring looms that are fitted to the TVIS (big port) and non-TVIS (small port) 4AGEs? I've got a small-port motor and a wiring loom that has been completely butchered (can anyone say "spaghetti"? :lol:

) and need to obtain a new loom to fit the motor into my new shell (EE90 Corolla), I just need to know exactly which looms will and won't work before I go searching for one.

i pretty sure u need the small port loom for it, due to different plugs and some wiring for it..

You can cut and solder the plugs for the 2 different ecu's and you have to add a couple of wires for the knock sensor.

We did this in my aw11 and it was annoying till we figured out the injectors had different duty cycles and triggers.

Modifying the wiring will make it run ( if you fix the dist and injector problems,)

But they will have very different programs to run them so you will not get any where near the power it would make with the correct ECU.

We used the correct ecu. Otherwise we wouldn't have had to change anything.

It was putting in the correct ecu that made the car require different anyway.
