There are many aftermarket kits (most well known is blitz) for SC and turboing the beams engine with pretty good results using factory internals and cams etc.

Yes there are, but run anything less than 100 octane, and more than 8psi, and your conrods can be mistaken for modern art.
Any high compression motor wont take kindly to massive forced induction...they're just not built solid enough to handle the forces involved.

Very true mmm boost,

but they are no worse than any other high comp NA motor.

As for bolt on kits, why not a bolt in motor?

3SGTE anyone? A lot easier, cheaper and reliable to get a write off and swap all the go fast bits in and convert to FR configuration.

Or am I tired and missing some vital piece of info that will prevent someone from doing this?

Did you think of buying an already turbo'd tezza?

There are a few around and would save you a lot of time and probably $$$ too.

duh, my bad.

You could always make a 3S G/TE hybrid.

I dunno, whatever floats you boat.

Greddy and blitz both do turbo kit, (im pretty sure)
Dunno if you can get it here though.

Have a look round, its amazing what you can find when you look hard enough.

oh, and dont have a man look

I don't think it's fatigue, you don't have a clue what you are talking about . Some advice: when you find yourself in a hole it is wise to stop digging. In this case a search would be a good start as this topic has aleady been beaten to death.
To reprise, turbocharging the Altezza 3SGE properly and reliably costs >$15,000, anything less is an unreliable bodge and a complete waste of time IMO. There are dreamers who will continue to argue against this but they understand the issues involved only slightly more than you do.

I stand corrected anthonym

I was only trying to help on the factory comparisons.
I didnt say I knew anything about forced induction'd altezzaz.

And point taken, I take my cue and shut up now.

Actually you won't learn everything about Altezzas over there. Most of them on the UK forum are IS200s - so info on the 3SGE can be lacking. Don't forget the NZ forums mentined at the start of the thread.

Beams = bloody good valve timing system (basically)

Note: Toyota quotes the RS beams engines at 147KW. (197 HP) :P

The 3SGE BEAMS in the manual Altezza is 210 hp

Man, I need to read properly before I post.

Apologies, I know when Im wrong.

No need to be too pedantic though.

I remove myself from this conversation before anyone feels the need to shoot me down some more.
