not sure wat standard is as it varies all the way through, ive never got out my measuring calipers and had a look :P

2 1/4 right through is as big as you wanna go with a 3sge.

dont put the cat back in, but make sure u put a couple of big resonators in for fear of sounding like a strangled vtec, lol

If you got sum spare dosh replace the stock airfilter with a K&N flat panel, or a properly done sealed CAI.
I had vtax :(

Magoo's, Pitstop etc.

ask for 2 and a quarter, mandral bend, with 2 *hot dog* resoninators (as long as possible), and a Super Turbo muffler i think it is? (only pitstop cary these).

thats if your not giong to go for a big ricy mufler

get a quote from each first, and a quote for the super turbo muffler from pitstop (eg, if magoos is cheaper, buy the mufler from pitstop and get magoos to fit it).

As matt said above.

How much do you wanna spend on your system, do you wanna replace your headers aswell ? starts gettin quite pricey about then, your lookin just under a grand i think for a full FULL system.

I myself for the time being only got my muffler replaced, and the cat removed and a "hotdog" resonator put in its place (celicas come factory with quite a big stock resonator anyway. And since then, it one, no longer sounds like a sick honda, and two actually has a bit more kick, which surprised me.

i got pitstop to do a full exhaust on my old Corona with a reasonator and a super turbo muffler, cost about $300 including the mufflers. I'd recommend going from the stock flexi back if you want to save a few $$, probably not much gain to be had from getting the headers replaced unless you get it done by someone who knows what they're going, seeing as the 3sge already has pretty good tubular headers

No law has been passed for them to fail on you not having a cat, however i hear its on the books.

but until it is put into practice, i, and many others out there, wont be reinstalling cats :).
