i very rescently wrote of my sil8o and now am looking for a doner shell to put all the running gear in to, and have always wantd an 86,
what i am wondering is has anyone done one and can i get any advice from them, mymate recons there aint any in nz, i have heard of a 86with a ca18 in it in chch

theres an 86 in aussie with an sr20det in it it was in hotfours or fast fours or something like that a while back, i cant see why it wouldnt work, as 2r20's arnt *that* much larger than a 4age, requires a bit of fab work i think but that has to be expected when mixing manufacturers

i know of a couple of toyotas with sr20det's
ones a dx wagon that with custom mounts etc fits sweet as,
the other is a ke35 coupe, but has to have some extensive firewall and tunnel fabrication

There are some in NZ! There fit without modding the firewall, the shifter hole needs a little cutting but is all good.
My friend has an SR20DET in an AE85. Fits mint!

Yeah cool idea. Was thinking of putting a sr20de in my hachi as I want to keep it n/a but want more power than a 4age....

Wonder how hard it would be to put a vvl motor in.....

Put in a 3sge, its apparently an easy conversion and will give you that extra power.
