http://english.auto.vl.ru/catalog/toyota/soarer/1995_5/

Both 12.5L to 100km's, highway driving.

so thats 624km's to 78Litres.

which will take $125 odd to fill the tanc (using $1.60 petrol prices). and a good $156 if we hit the $2 as expected by end of year.

i wanted a soarer, but petrol prices are putting me WAYYYY off. (well, if i did get one haha, GO THE 4AGE'S!)

Guess its back to 20v then eh Coz? ;)
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

Nono, i got the "better around town and cruising 4age".

instead of the "peaky as hell and car i crashed 4age"

:D.

plus the 4agze is better on petty imho (torque when you want it, so you dont find yourself revving its nuts off... and keeping your foot to the floor far more oftern    )

mmmmmm gas prices, i see what you mean about putting u off soarers!

I was watching one of those police shows and in the background the petrol price at mobile was $1.03 a litre for synergy 1000 or something. the good old days! great if you had a soarer then!

oh well i guess if i get a soarer v8 ill just have to drive it on special occasions or put up with the increasing gas prices.... who knows these prices could subside eventually - or increase! :(

in some ways these high gas prices are quite good because now alot of people are selling there soarers turbos and v8s at low prices and buying more ecconomical cars.... now theres a larger than ever soarer selection!

quite alot on trade me compared to last year...

these petrol price have got me thinking maybe the v8 is too gas hungry... maybe i should go for a tt are they more ecconomical at lower speeds (say if casually driving tt under 3500rpm through town.. ).... but then there alot faster and have not v8 sound..

i had a 1jzge with auto in my car and i could go from auckland to waioru on a tank. when i put a manual box in i could go auckland to p/north on a tank. but then i put the gte engine in with manual and back to filling up at waioru. and i get the same mileage from my 2L carby manual hilux.

yeah thats a reason why i like the v8 since you dont have to rev too much to get out lots of torque... i could drive around all day easy under 3500rpm.

it would be boring but not so hard on the gas cost! [/quote]

Really theres sweet FA real world difference between the UZ and JZ Soarers in comsumption. Both are relatively economical unless you have a heavy foot (which is half the fun in buying one anyway  )

And why do you think V8's are boring?? Sure they're not as fast on paper as their 6 Cylinder brothers but they're still fun, and FWIW I cruise around town at about 1250-1500 rpm.

If you're worried about fuel costs....don't buy a Soarer, TT or V8.

the v8s is not boring, is fantasic my favourite engine ... it just would be a bit boring maybe to some people here driving it like a granny under 3000rpm (slow, light foot  ) i didnt mean it would be boring, as in slow compared to a tt, id rather have a v8 any day than the tt even tho its faster on paper.

im not that concerned about gas cost either. just something i was curious about... i dont mind spending 120+ a tank to make these great cars go

i was talking to a guy with a soarer v8 with 178,000kms on the clock.

he said his can do around 135kms travelling at 50km/h in the wellington with $20 worth of gas in the tank.. thats about 12-13 litres.

That works out to be about 10km/L :D which is basically what soarers are meant to do from what ive read.. there for this v8 it really ecconomical!

does this seem right... im pretty sure is it

It's not too out there for the V8. 10km/l is very good for one of those. As for the 1JZ...
