Knob in the middle is a bit of pain to use when i've had to use one to change tracks.. - not overly intuitative GUI either.. you'll find you use the remote more than the control knob..

I ended up with a DEH-P7750MP its mmmm alright sorta wish i went clarion now. Needs tuned tho my poor poor rainbows are running off the internal HU amp

Yep i ended up with the same one as you cheese, i like it. Its not so much the step up model to the P1Y it just has the P1Y styling. If you look in the pioneer website its accualy a lower model to the P1Y.

ahh i thought it was released after the PIY as an upgrade. more buttons - more useful. ahh pioneer decks rule anyway thanks to the freq curve editor
i got the old 99/2000 top of the line unit in my car (the dolphin unit) hehe. still looks sexier than any of the new models of competition brands.
this should have been laid to rest, but i just wanted to point out that a major difference between the 1y and the 7750 is that the 7750 has an 'aac' mechanism, wheras the 1y does not. other than that, different facing, not a lot else is different.
meh ill just stick to my alpine
