What is your IQ?

Postby V8MOFO » Thu Oct 06, 2005 3:41 am

Went to immigration today to sort out my alien card etc...
anyway i took a non-compulsory IQ test for fun.

After 15 minutes I came out with a score of 131 :D

I had no idea how good this was until i looked it up on the net.
between 120-130 is an average high school teacher.
between 130-140 is an average lawyer, engineer
140+ is a professor.

So i am pretty pleased with my score.

Anyone else done one?

Considering you used the wrong your I doubt your IQ is 131

Seriously though, most IQ tests are pretty much bullshit, I think if you really want to know you should do a proper one through. A full IQ test should take a hell of a lot longer than 15 minutes.

I did one once...
Came out with a score of 146: it HAD to be crap, I'm pretty sure I'm much, erm, "less smart" than that...

Exactly, most online IQ tests give people results in the 130 to 150 range which is obviously crap. Almost no one has an IQ that high, the average IQ is supposed to be between 95 and 110 or something. Apparently anyone with an IQ of 120 or more on a recognised test can take the entrance test into MENSA.

i used to do online ones a bit. if you were under 18 it would factor for you age and give you a higher score.
When I was 14 my IQ (according to these tests) was 164
Last time I did one I think it was in the low 130's. I think I haven't gotten any smarter since I was 14, just older so down goes my IQ :(

There aren't recognised online tests accoring to Mensa but could someone post a link and we can all take a standardised test?

What did people get on the test the nation programme? I did the first one when I was 16 (I think) and I got 120, another friend of mine who I regard as being very smart (he came in the top couple of % in the country in some economics test thing a couple of years back) and he got 116. I found that first test the nation thing quite easy because of the number of spatial/image/pattern questions which I'm good at because I'm an artist. I think if I did the same test now I would have done better on the language questions which were quite difficult. The difference between this test and the online ones are its imposed time limits on each question which means you don't get time to think too much, you either know the answer or you don't.

Having a high/low IQ doesn't mean you're gonna fail or do well in life, there's plenty of rich stupid people and poor smart people out there.

Wikked

I recall doing the Test the Nation one, I got 121 last time around...
The one before that, I got 118... So if we take the results, come up with some sort of theory and run with it, I'm apparently getting smarter :? The world is doomed...
