I like Fords and Holdens. With the recent FPV releases though, I'm more leaning towards Ford though :)
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

Both are awsome cars. But a new typhoon would be cool. I still picked holden tho...

murph was offline and trying the outbrake up the inside... and tagged ambrose on the rear wheel/bumper. pretty clear really.

I would, in absolute 100% seriousness, rather be seen driving a late-80's Fiat than any Ford or Holden thats come out of Australia (Fords from the US / Europe can be cool)... In fact i can think of many things i would rather do than drive a Ford or Holden : have my balls scraped off with a spoon, be fed my own lower intestine, be given a sulphuric acid enema, be drawn and quartered, etc :lol:

Any car these days that takes 5.7L to develop 260kw is obviously developed by chimps. Strike that : blind chimps with no arms and a bad case of palsy. :roll:

however i too dislike both cars, but i think the 60's fords are awesome ..

Perhaps you were watching a different race, overhead and Murph's in car shots clearly show that he was up to the A-Pillar. In the past that would have meant that Ambrose was automatically deemed at fault, but the rules have changed and now the stewards have to take into account the concept of "racing room"

Murph was definately more to blame in my opinion.

Stewards have ruled it a "racing incident" with no one at fault. Which seems correct to me, though given the circumstances Ambrose was the one who could have easily avoided the incident without affecting his race.

As to Murphy's outburst, he and many other drivers have made the same sort of comments in the past about Ambrose's attitude/ego, can't say if it's true or not, but it's a commonly held view. Murph just happens to be one of those sorts of people that doesn't hold back when it come to expressing himself.

Aerial shot didn't show much, not in close enough. Nobody could be expected to make a reasonable judgement from that helicam. Of course it wouldn't matter if it was Murphy's fault anyway, they can't give you a stop go or remove points when he didn't finish anyway.

Pick up a copy of Street Machine... it will totaly change your point of view on Murphy. From the ones I've read all he does is blame other drivers for absolutely everything, mostly works off the whole edge that if somebody is winning it's because their car is too good, and if somebody is loosing it's cause they are a crappy driver. This column puts Murphy across as the self righteous ego from hell, who is a fairly childish sore looser.

It clearly showed that he was up to the "A" pillar, in fact that's where they first made contact, it's also clear from Murph's in car shot that Ambrose turned in on him, even though he had enough room to stay out.

There is a large range of penalties they could impose on someone judged to be at fault, from monetary, to docking points, to making them start from the back of the grid. The fact that they jusdged it to be a racing incident signifies that they didn't apportion blame to either driver.

Hehe, and you expect any other top line motor racer to have a different attitude? Sorry to say, but all the top guys are like that, and some are far worse that Murph, doesn't make them any less talented nor does it effect how I view them as a competitor, it's all part of the show :wink:

Hell yea, Skylines would eat everything else on that track!

But seriously, they are still both using engine designs that went out 20 years ago and putting out only 320hp compared to their displacement
An 2.6L r34 is making twice the bhp per litre of a new 5.7L holden commodore ss

Where's the option for "both suck ass, bring back the skyline"

Yet it was Murphy who cried Ambrose gave him no racing room.
He may have been even with his A-pilar after spinning him around. No way was this the case as they entered the corner.

Murphy made a mistake and was passed, if he surrendered there would've been no accident. Instead he had the boot up it right into the corner because he can't stand losing to ambrose and the tagged the rear of his car.

It was the irony of his comment and attitude in light of the accident. Ambrose may be all they say but if you are just as bad (in this case worse), it's best to keep your mouth shut.

But then jealously does get the better of people sometimes (murphy), especially when Ambrose has a shot of 3 championships in a row.

while bathurst is a big race, its one day.... id say its a better effort to win the championship....

funny how holden are waaaay behind in the ATCC tally..... they also have the longest losing streak.... 14 years!
