Black top throttle body measurements please!

I would like some info on the black-top throttle bodies. What is the spacing between centres? I know they are 45mm diameter.

The intent of the question isn't far off that in the discussion above, namely their use on an Italian engine, however it is only a 2.0 four cylinder this time. Only two valve, but they are BIG valves. Oh, it also has 8 spark plugs and had VVT back in 1987 :-)

Just planning my next project and looking at possibilities.

The next question would of course be who has some for sale, but I'm in no hurry to buy.

Ok then, how about the same measurements for the throttle bodies off a silvertop!!

I just want to compare the spacing to my Alfa engine.

I am pretty sure the throttle bodies themselves are 4 individual units and that an enterprising engineer such as yourself could space them to any distance required.

Good stuff, I was unsure but thought that may be the case. I'll add a set to my to-buy list then... Damn that list is getting long...

They are ridiculously expensive though, the last set on Trade Me went for a staggering $400, as opposed to $900 for an entire blacktop engine :?. I can't help wondering, given the engine in question, why you just don't get a Webber manifold and a pair of injection throttlebodies?

yeah.. TBs are sometimes a silly price....

occasionally i come across some i can do for around $250.
$900 for a BT is not a bad deal based on the average retail prices wreckers charge.

silvertop ones are cheaper and not a lot smaller....

anothonym, yeah they were bloody expensive, but i had been looking for two months so $400 was worth it!
I have bored them out to 48MM, used weber butterflies and bolted them to an altezza 3sge in my sw20.
ive also got a set of 45mm nissan throttles of a gtir which are nice but molded in pairs. so not that easy to make up inlet manifold.
also got some 42mm yamaha 1100 quad throttles, very nice stuff so will use on my next 2age.

i have CAD files of the gaskets for these, drew them myself so damn accurate. i used them to laser cut my manifold plates.
