tappet clearances for a 2E

g/f's car is getting noisier and noisier, will give me something to do while i'm on holiday so i need to know what the tappet clearances are??? anybody got a manual they can have a quick look in for me???

This isnt man/specs but 0.25mm In - 0.30mm ex - Hot.

Ive set a few at these settings with no probs... :lol:

cheers, i'll give it a go at that.

are you meant to set them hot? i've only ever done tappets on heavy diesel generators and we did them cold.

If you set em cold there is a chance the clearance will become less once they are hot due to expansion etc....Well in theory anyways!

If you set em hot the clearance will remain the same.

they clearances actually get bigger when you set them cold believe it or not. due to the fact that the heat is at the bottom of the valve
