Who is going to be the first caldina into the 12s

Postby 99gtt » Tue Oct 25, 2005 7:37 pm

I am going to try for a 12 sec pass at the night speed drags coming up . I know twisted is knocking on the doorstep of a 12 sec pass and caldina gtt is awaiting a tune witch will definatly put him in the 12s but who will get there first. Any others out there who are close .

TWSTD has all the gear to get into the 12's, it's just a matter of time.

He was pulling away from me @ high speed.
No "stance", no "hellaflush", none of that bullshit. Nothing but no grip on full boost.

I dont know my caldina is fairly stock and pulling 13 second passes. So some weight loss , put a full 3 inch system on and increase the boost a little i am confident of breaking into the 12s

i think maybe about 180kw at wheels would do the trick... i think a stock gtr can get high 12`s under right conditions.. JUST and they feel pretty gutless , its possible ! goodluck guys 8)

TWSTD ran a 13.2 down at the nrb drag day a little wihile back and hes done some more work to the car... a 12 second pass is on the cards... and plus with that xero sticker on the bonet that must take at least .1 of a second off lol

To cut a 12 you would need around 175km/h (108mph) or more trap speed and a decent launch (1.9 second 60ft or less).

1.9 isn't really a decent 60 foot in a 4wd.
My st185 did a 1.74 60 foot when I did my 13.10 - trap speed was only 165 though (due to f*cked wheel alignment and diff)

no idea what sort of weight the 185 was when I ran (stripped), but I'd say it was atleast 80kg less than a caldina. A caldina should be able to overcome the extra weight through power though, with 20% more fuel and a better turbo they should be able to produce considerably more power than my 185 was

Just remember for every 0.1 you can take off your 60ft you can take off 0.2 from your ET ;)

Nevermind who's going to be first into the 12's, when's somebody going to get serious and get into the 11's.

It's going to take more than a 450HP CT26 to do that though

PFFFFt

Stock caldina engines wont get you anywhere

However, in the dirty south auckland there is a rwd twin turbo lexus v8 caldina that is almooost finished and hopefully going to be a skidfest.

Which should be enough for an 11.

Ill check and see if im allowed to post up some teaser pics.
