:D

I have a 7MGTE strapped on board my '85 Seeda  ....... the LSD I'm using is off a MK2 Supra NOT a MARK 3, drops straight in. As for power/Torque/ acceleration etc..on the street, have done a measured 0-60mph(using a G-Tech Pro out of the USA, hence the miles and not kph) consistently in the 4.7 second range...which would probably equate to a 4.85 0-100kph, and the 1/4 MILE in 13.29 seconds@107 miles per hour(remember that this is all done with the PERFECT reaction time...so it is a bit flattering)...at Meremere the best Seeda has done is 14.13 seconds without an LSD(stock Cressida diff, almost redlining in speed trap at 159kph overdrive off), and a 14.23 recently at the HvsT day with MK 2 LSD(162 kph speedtrap and nowhere near redlining 8O ...yum), on a "green" track, so a sub 14 second track run is a definite reality.........this was my first competitive run with the LSD, and I was changing gears roughly at the same RPMS as when I had the single spinner.....I need to alter that, as the ratios are way different now, and I was almost undercooking the changes at the last meet..except in my semi, when I went completely the other way and boost cut twice in the space of the first hundred feet of the track  but we won't dwell on that.... the Seeda is listed as having a curb weight of around 3100lbs, which is actually lighter than the Mark 3 Supra that the 7M comes out of...so you have no problems with the power on tap....... one mod so far......boost raised from 6psi(auto standard) to around the 10psi mark....... unsure of specifics as I'm using a T-piece for the boost increment(not recommended)....so all up, yeah, you can have a lot of fun with an 7MGTE motor under the bonnet of a Seeda without further mods...... the quintessential SLEEPER....... one recommendation though if you go for the 7MGTE upgrade..... don't overlook your tyres, shocks, brakes and springs.... change them, the Cressida stockies give you one hell of an experience as you start to FLOAT at 180kph........ haven't had that experience since back in th 70's when I hooned around in an HQ Holden
As for economy... I haven't tested her since Engine rebuild, but pre build she was running at just under 9 km per litre......in ECONOMY.......when the foot goes down, you throw all measurements out the window, the CT26 turbo combined with half a dozen 440cc injectors can suck your fuel tank and pocket dry in no time at all...........but what a rush getting there......
All the best, with your decision mate............I always keep an eye out for Seedas on the road, they have a lot of character........whether they are on steroids(if the 7M roid, check the Head Torque) or not........... 8)

just a side note, reaction time isn't counted in your E/T

and back on topic - we had a mx73 for a little while (2.8L), no performance beast but it was quite comfortable for cruising around in. Got pretty sh*t fuel economy around town, but it was pretty good on the open road. Oneday I'd like to get another (or maybe a *x8*) and give it a bit more grunt with a 7M, 1JZ or 1UZ.

Cheers for that........ I wasn't sure about the Honda v Toyota day, as we weren't racing on the full Xmas tree, didn't have the end of track screens showing time/speed data, our (actual/elapsed?) time and speedtrap figures were hand written on slips, rather than the electronically printed slips you normally get.......that's why my uncertainty about the timing being an E.T. or actual that day, thus the "flattering" comment put in for my road E.T...... it must of been elapsed  at Meremere

Back to the topic, I met a young chap at the Toyota vs Honda day, who had a MX73(?)Cressida with a 1JZGTE under the bonnet, the engine mounts were imported from Aussie for around 3 or 4 hundred dollars........ he is currently on the look out for a Mark 2 LSD........
yeah, Seeda motor upgrades are not overly expensive, and as All_Fours stated you have a (good) choice with the M series,1JZ Supra options or the Lexus 1U V8.........I didn't perform the 7M conversion on my car......that was done by TOYMAD....... and from memory he stated the loom work as being the most difficult and time consuming task.........TRADEME has a few beauties for sale at the moment........

Sorry to unearth an old topic. But I just wanted to know if the Cressies came with electric seats. I remember reading somewhere that they apparently have electric seats and also leather trim??. I know this is very noobish, but could I have the stats on a standy cressy, whether it came with elctric window, seats, etc. Could someone please clarify the deatils on this. Cheers guys and girls you have all been really helpful.

Yeah my GX61 grande has button seats aswell, no velour for me though.....

I like the way it has a light that comes on when you pull up the handle, and the auto-lock on the doors over 20km/h, and the 108km/h speed beeper. This car makes me laugh.
