AE85 brake upgrade?

Postby Zak » Mon Nov 28, 2005 6:26 pm

Hey, do AW11 front brakes bolt up to a ae85?

Because I can get a whole car for a very cheap price/ I can use the loom most of the engine, ECU and a few other bits and peices, so it should be worth it, but I mostly want it for the brakes.

Cheers :D

They could be made to fit but would be easyer and cheaper to get front brakes from an early supra with the same stud pattern

Ha, try finding some!!! You have more chance of winning lotto than finding AE-86 brakes.

i would like to see the outcome if you do. there is very little room for the 4-spot caliper without spacing the wheels or using deeper dished rotors. so please post a how to do if it works out.

i am looking at using E33A mitsi calipers and discs. same stud pattern and similar (i.e. eyeometer) offset on the rotor, but mainly for rears.
I've been a bad bad boy. I should read the rules and behave before I get spanked by an admin

If i do it, Bygone autos will do it for me. They have previously done another AE86 with Skyline 4pot front, 2 pot rear, and willwood peddle box. PS, its a Targa car so need good stoppers!

when i first bought my AE it only had 85 brakes on the front, i found a set of complete 86 front struts which i swapped into it when i swapped the suspension over, if you keep your eyes peeled complete struts do come up for sale from time to time but they just dont last long so when you see some buy buy buy !!!
If you drink, and drift,
