suggestion 1) PLAN IT OUT

no point going and doing alot of n/a work, then throwing it all away to change for a turbo, then a supercharger...

plan what you want... seriously.

Before you ask... yes I am a bit of a Nana.
Have you had a chance to drive a blacktop powered car? Blacktops go plenty well standard! They have pretty good torque in the midrange.
I presume that you have only a motor, no car to put it into yet? Have you thought about certifying issues or insurance?
What car will you use?

With more power, are you going to:
- drag it?
- race it?
- rally it?
- street race?
- street drag?
- scare the crap out of your friend/girlfriend/boyfriend/mother?
- show off the bling engine parts you have fitted?
- brag about how much power you think you have?
- crash it into a ditch/tree/fence?
I feel that some of the above reasons might justify the urge for more power.
So answer some questions for me:
- Have you driven a standard blacktop powered car?
- Have you driven a 4agze powered car?
- Do you want more power or more torque?
- Do you want a fun car to drive on the street?
- Do you want a dedicated race car?
- Do you want to stay NA or go turbo or supercharged?
- Do you want to beat your mates?
- Are you prepared to rip it out and rebuild it a couple of times a year?
- Or do you want something reliable you can fit and forget about?

Keep the factory blacktop extractors, not worth going after market - you would be unlikely to improve on the factory ones.

I used to think that the orange and green tictacs gave you special powers. The orange ones would make you stronger and the green ones would make you faster. So i used to eat some green ones and run around my lounge as fast as i could, then eat the orange ones and try to pick up the sofa. I wish it were true!

Yes, the fact that you have actually decreased performance.

If you up compression on road fuel you will need to retard ignition, retard ignition and you wont get the same peak HP.
Aftermarket computer, RevHead made some good gains, however I wouldnt call them substancial. If you do make radical changes then you will certainly need one.
Pistons? Why?
Conrods, if you are seeking more HP then silvertop is a good intermediatary step to something like a Carrillo. Only if you are seeking a substancial gain in HP.
Exhaust manifold? The standard one flows very well. Several racers I know still run them on vehicles running as high as 212 flywheel HP.

You state you don't want to alter the cams. However this is where you will get the best gains, and mainly through loosing your lower to mid range.

i would! about 10% increase in peak torque and power, and a far better torque curve. amazing results from just a plug in ecu.
i wouldve have believed it myself unless i saw it and did it back to back.
made a huge difference on the road too, heaps more torque exactly where the silvertop needs it :D

however i thinki was lucky, the SARD ecus appear to be programmed to certain engines, i was lucky to get one that worked with mine. others may not be as good on a stock engine

yep, if your after a signifigant increase you need to play cams. and to get the best from that your talking aftermarket ECU. theres several grand there

about half way down for dyno plots. the dyno reads about 30-40kw low, but is consistant.

he also uses it as an engine dyno, so i think hes stuffed up the calulations for the rollers. 2 runs were done with each ECU and they were within 2kw each run
