1994 Hilux, engine conversions?

i suppose , yours being a 6 cylinder, it isn't so harsh on engine, but would still load up the gearbox bearings.
the 5 speed in my v6 commonhore is abit whiney because the last owner was a 5th gear around town freak!!

i cruise around in 5th in mine,when towing and when driving around town, 2jz's love it, but then your talking about a holden box, not toyota, the hilux gearbox has larger bearings than the supra w55 box's, and no one ever has proplems with the bearings in supra box's.and i tow with my chaser in 5th aswell, towed my ute with my chaser from welly to ak, 5th most of the way, but then i can do 200 while towing, easy. why ring the shit out of any engine when it has the power to cruise along in top gear, thats why you put the larger engines in a tow car.

Exactly KE20. I dunno where in a holden you'd find a bearing the side of the input bearing in a R151F gearbox...... It'd rival the front crank pulley for size if not bigger, the thing is the size of an average saucer.

You're comparing holden gearboxes to toyota gearboxes, thats like compaing a dingy to an oceanliner..............

yeah fair call, but i don't see the point in running and engine or box at lower than optimal revs, it was death of anything with a datsun or nissan badge, and i guess i use the same rule with anything that has wheels.

it compares supra gearbox(W55-59) bearings to a holden V8 gearbos bearings(in first pic).
now thats the W## series gearbox, the hilux and supra R## are even bigger boxes and bearing again.
