If he was caught on the motorway at 209 the cop must have been on his side of the motorway. SO why stop...you know your going to get $&#$% in the arse if you pull over.......

Chances are the cop would have got the plate and a description of the car, so if you didnt stop when he put his lights on then you could get done for failing to stop (quite as serious charge) as well as whatever else hes getting, and as was being discussed earlier how many other BMW's are there out there that fit the description

Do you reckon you would be able to read a plate if it went past you at 200kph+ if you were sitting there stationary??

i think it would be hard if not impossible to read a plate at 200+k's an hour, but with such a small high spec beemer fleet in dunners im sure it wouldnt be hard to find who owned it from the descripion. Unless they have fancy highspeed cameras hooked up too the radars now to take number plate photos?

Interesting to read about the other cars mentioned(racing at 230 kph). The company hinted at is being charged with failing to supply any detail of the drivers involved...I wonder if they are trying to set a legal precedent when it goes to court?

Or just not "playing ball"?

They are thinking of putting up a couple of permanent speed camera's on the Southern Motorway now, which i think is a good idea. 8)

a weird thing about motorways, is that they go to great lengths to make them so safe for "higher speeds" i.e no walking/lane dividers etc ...... and stil the speed limit is no higher than a random little country road, it doesnt realy make a lot of sense to me (there's probly a perfectly logical and valid explanation but I'm too stupid to work it out  )

yeah if it was the guys that owned the company, the way to save thier licences is refuse to wupply details, sure they have to pay a fine, but maybe $10000 is cheaper to then than losing thier license

10k?

duno about here, but in aussie you pay roughly 3x the fine if you dont say who the driver was (company car).

My father has been doing this for AGES (company pays for the fine anyway), but hes racked THOUSANDS up easily :D. and his licence is scotch free :P
