I had some new shocks installed on my car today (KYB's: Brilliant, feels like a new car) and while it was at the mechanics, someone clipped the side of my car. For F**** Sake, what is wrong with people in this day and age; they just drove off.

Fortunately most of it polished out (the mechanic flat out refused any liability; if it was worse I WOULD be taking the mechanic to court). But the rear bumper still has a nice scratch on it.

The shocks were quite cheap, so I dont really see the point in taking an honest mechanic to the Disputes Tribrunal. I will probably leave the bumper as it is. This is the Fourth time its been hit whilst parked (I only saw one person actually hit it out of the four times).

The mechanics description of the people that hit it:
"I think it was 3 F*cken Maori Cun*ts in a F*cken Piece of Sh*t Honda who tried to turn in the car park".

Seriously though, if you are too stupid to drive in a car park, please dont. Even the simplist idiot should have a good idea of where the corners of your car are. And if you dont know, put one of those stick things at the front so people know youre an idiot and they shouldnt park within a kilometer of you.

I feel your pain. Within 4 weeks of buying my caldina, every single corner was marked from dolts in the carpark at work. And a couple of weeks later I got a massive scratch down the driver's side. Nobody ever owns up. :x

I feel your pain man, somebody reversed into my car in a carpark and mashed in the plastic at the front. I got the same description from some onlookers that you got from the mechanic.

I have had a cheap (but nice) Honda Prelude; Never Hit.
A Mazda Familia (Paint was a little Rough); Never Hit.
My Corolla, Immaculate Paint Job, always been garaged and looked after well; it seems like everyone wants a piece of it.

After 5 years of parking my car at Westgate every day it looks like it has been in a demo derby and lost :( When I first bought the car it really p*ssed me off when someone scratched it but now it has been hit so many times it just isn't worth caring about. Yeah anybody who looks at my car will think that I can't drive/park to save myself but at least I know that not a single one of those scratches have been put there by me
We know that four-wheel drive doesn't work in a racing car, and I proved to myself that it doesn't work very well for rallycross. I'm absolutely convinced that it has no future in rallying, either, even if the regulations allowed it. - Roger Clark (rallying legend), circa 1976

Thats weird eh....when I used to drive the wagon to work, I'd always find new bloody door dents on it just about every day.
So far *touch wood* noone has dinged the 2. I'm usually a bit more careful where I park it though, and people probably think I'm a crap driver because I deliberately take up a space and a half so no-one can try park between me and the car next to me

I can relate to this...
My old car was covered in dings, none by me, and my new one was hit having had it not long, at Pak n Slave.
And of course, no-one owned up.

Its not hard to reverse out of a car park, for god sakes some people take forever doing it, like they're "guessing" that the way they're reversing is correct.

I work at wendys and luckily, its been about a month now and noone has curbed my car or dented it, $&#$% lucky, i'm gonna start parking it in safer spots, i'm scared now...

I once looked for a car park in reverse :D Drove around for like 400-500 meters in the west city car park reversing up the ramps.

Hah, I recall a year or so ago, we were out having a smoko at work, someone had done that, parked over 2 parks.. most people drove past it, but one asian lady in a late model Accord got her nose in, scraped the corner of the badly-parked car on her left, kept going, the other corner hit the car on the right, kept going up to the wall, and stopped. All 3 cars had decent damage!

The funny thing was, once she realised she couldn't get her door open, she backed out, and left a nice long scrape down the side of the car on the left! She took off, we got her plate, gave it to mall security.. man, if it were my car, I'd be super pissed.. I know how mupp3t feels, I work at the same place.. every car I've ever owned and parked at the mall, has been dinged at some stage. Man, what I would GIVE to catch them in the act!

This was the damage done to my car in a car park. Took 3 days of investigating to track the bitch down.....

Her insurance eventually paid out in full.

She told a witness she had left a note, when she never had. Pissed me right off....

i wonder .... if it would be feasable

to make a security camera system for your car

say 4 cameras on the car covering all angles or so recording to a harddrive ....

would be a bitch to set up but hey if it catches bastards like what they have done to astrae's car

then yeah worth it

any one with any ideas
Nothing to see here ...

I had an asian lady reverse her tow ball right through my radiator. Luckily I was sitting in the car at the time, I thought she was going to drive right over me. She reversed - hit - then reversed harder! I was mad...

When I first started taking my toyota to work some wanker from our service department in a company car tried to rip my wing mirror off - I told my boss and he put a "hit" out on them, he searched and investigated who it was and ripped the guy a new bum hole when he found out who it was.

Now I have been given a new parking space and the service guys are too scared to park next to my car if they know whats for them
