Great turnout guys, 100% of those who voted for Hanmer in the poll didn't show up, In fact no one showed up
Had bikes all packed and was gonna pick up bro on way passed but as it turned out, the car didn't make it further than a few km from the carpark. When I pulled into the carpark heard a grinding noise, didn't take long to work out left front wheel bearing had spat the dummy. Tried to get hold of Ako and see what time he was planning on doing the engine as I didn't have enough tools on me to change a bearing on the side of the road.
Limped the car round to lukes and decided what to do, then on my way to Ako's place it broke down completely. Wheel grabbed so pulled over straight away and grease cap had poped off from pressure and smoke was pouring off hub
Bro was on his way into town so got him to pick me up and headed round to Ako's. Looked at his car for about an hour while sorting out with Corey to use his mates car trailer, Cheers dude!
Once the car was back and we dropped trailer off back in town we tried to get the hub off but the outside bearing was stuck. Decided to leave it and try with some pullers and inpact drive on monday but it was still tight like a tiger. So tonights job is to pull the strut out and see if we can press it off. More than likely the axle is rooted so if anyone finds or has a LF ae85/86 strut please let me know.
Moral of the story? Check the user manual for the correct torque on your bearing lock nuts, they should last longer than a year that way
