Where to get...

Postby fuel » Tue Jan 24, 2006 6:04 pm

Where would I get some aftermarket sway bars for my TE71 Corolla? As far as I know, they are the same as the AE85/AE86. Mine has mega body roll from 'nam, and I hope to sort it out with a stiffer/bigger sway bar and some stiffer suspension.

try whiteline..they generally have alot of aftermarket parts for the older generation toyotas.

or if its exactly the same as ae8* parts, then just find ae8* parts.
most japanese tuners and suspension places will have some form suspension parts to suit.

New shocks + springs will fix it.

No one seems to make uprated front sway bars for the ST205 so I went to Snells in AKL with an OE bar and said "Copy this using 19mm bar" and they did. :D

redo all the bushes that hold the swaybar and the bushes for the links.
This will mean that the swaybar will start to work as soon as you start to turn ... not when all the slop in the bushes have been taken up.

I used to think that the orange and green tictacs gave you special powers. The orange ones would make you stronger and the green ones would make you faster. So i used to eat some green ones and run around my lounge as fast as i could, then eat the orange ones and try to pick up the sofa. I wish it were true!

^^ Good point Ken. I didn't think of that. I plan on replacing the struts/shocks and springs at some stage, but wanted to complete the setup with a better sway bar.

sway bar would be the last thing i would do.
do the shocks and springs first as suggested, you will probably find that it handles alot better then.
And if thats till not good enough, nolathane bushes.

and that money that you thought you had to spend on an uprated swaybar can be spent on something else
