NOS

Postby Roush » Thu Feb 13, 2003 12:48 pm

I've been having arguements with certain people as to whether using NOS in your car is just a quick-fix to make it fast...

Question 1: So say, if you could afford a NOS kit, would you get it? And why?

Question 2: Wouldn't you rather be fast on your own merit?

Question 3: If you answered yes to NOS, and if you were an athlete, (lets just pretend people) would you take steriods to win a race? And also assume that steriods were legal in the race...

Question 4: Would you rather have a standard twin turbo supra (New shape) or a ride on lawnmower with NOS assuming that the lawnmower was faster and couldn't be used for mowing lawns?

I say, I wouldn't put NOS in because I'd rather be skilled in the mods that I do and have credit for making them good ones that improved my cars speed without using what I would say 'cheats'.

its nice, but its too expensive, for the $2000 or whateve that the nos kits cost, you could do mods that work for more than 5 sec at a time without the nasty $70 bottle refills.

well basicall fast & furious put me off NOS (pronounced NAWZ if you're american :D ) . Its like no one can win a race in the movie without it. Admittedly NOS sales went up 600% in the states afta the movie came out, so maybe u need it to compete ova there. Personally I'd prefer to have a car that was as fast on the road as it was on the track (ie no illegal NOS on the street). It would be kinda kool havin a big red GO FAST button on your wheel though hehehe.

i'm all for it, i've recently got into the drag racing scene and am considering NOS powering the 20 valve once i've got some basic mods outta the way and have the $$$

The way i see it i'll be ablr to compete with SOME of the turboed cars on the strip while off the track actually still having a reliable daily driver!!

U understandy??

firstly, turbo's are cheating its like a cyclist wearing a scuba type setup on themselves and letting the air be forced into them - thus increasing performance* the real way a man goes (who has $$$) is NA

(*this is a trialed and true statement)

secondly.. nice one at digging up month old thread and using caps in your reply

There is nothing wrong with n2o. Hp when u need it is a pretty grand idea 2 me.

Oh and there aint much that matches the look on the other persons face when your neck and neck in a drag race and u hit the bottle.........hahaha so much fun.

n2o is over rated.......really, what misconceptions can i bust 4 u? Maybe that shithouse movie had something to do with it.

oh and its about as illegal as driving around with a scuba tank in your boot or even less than driving down and getting your lpg bottle filled.

dont knock it until you try it, ask B1NZ

last time i look at the drag rules
u couldnt use 2 power adders ie turbo and nos :(
it seems to me nos would make a great anti lag system of u had a monster turbo and a 2ltr car.
