Well, had another panel beater take a look at it, and again was confident about repair- apparently chassis was not that damaged... will be interesting to see how it handles once repaired though.

Will speak to them about adding corner bits to rear bumper- might as well get it done while its up on blocks so to speak, especially if they're sourcing parts at trade prices... :wink:

By the way, it got shunted forward about 10 metres from original impact- anybody know if this would damage the tyres? A friend who had to do a sudden braking manouvere got flat spots on all four tyres- ruined the whole lot (lucky her dad owned a tyre shop!)- and wondering about my ones...

And yes Ladyluck some people certainly are... nice tat by the way. :)

Well, it's been ages since I added anything to this thread, so I figured I had better put some closure to all this...

Car went in for repairs- assessor valued it at about $7800, to which I laughed and told him to go out and get me one- Manual ZS sport Currens with a body kit are a bit hard to find...

It's all straight, about 3/4 resprayed, so looks lovely and shiny (well, it would if it wasn't covered in dirt). The panel beater did a really good job- guy off the street would be hard pressed to tell it had been in a shunt, and it drives straight- woo hoo! I had to take it back today for a few tidy up jobs though (been busy til now!):
*Rear windscreen heated elements don't work- apparently they used a second hand one- Grrr! Will have to chalk that one up to experience...
*Seal around windscreen is cracked, but if the screen is to be replaced, it will be too;
*Recurring theme here, but rear wiper keeps on hitting washer jet- changing blades anyway, hoping this will sort it (worn?).
*Body kit and interior kick panel on one side were loose- should be esaily sorted.
*Sunroof no longer works- figuring it's been put out of alignment...
He's calling assessor and getting back to me.

In the meantime, Alloys off to Rimrites for refurbishing, and then new tyres, clutch and brakes. Looks like 125k is the cut off point for most bits- damn it's gonna cost me! :cry:

As for idiot who drove into my car, he got two months jail- kinda sasd when you consider he was only 20yo... must have done it before. What a tw@t...
