at the mean time i have hks filter bolt on whole stainless steel pipe to turbo ~ hks ssqv ~ custom oil catch tank and hks hi power cat back ~

i 've been told that i will need the following b4 i can put a new turbo in

~680cc injector
~fuel pump
~fuel regulator
~ecu
~boost controller
~extractor
~FMIC

heres some stuff im doing / done to my GT4, feel free to have a nosey

http://forums.toyspeed.org.nz/viewtopic.php?t=42451

But my best advice would be check out Garys GT4 ST205 Creation hes done a truly amazing job without even touching the turbo just yet.

Sounds like you have the right ideas in mind.

one thing for sure.. it will cost.

Turbo kit + Boost controller and rebuild so far has cost me 3500.

Not priced or counted ECU, Injectors FMIC where the powerFC alone would cost ya 1500 or so.

Id estimate your plans are going to cost over the $5000 mark.(based on your parts listed etc.

Depends if you want to do things 'properly'. For a strong reliable 3S-GTE with some 400bhp @ flywheel, you'll probably need to spend somewhere in the region of at least $15k. And then you'll need to do some suspension mods to keep the car on the road.
So, unless you have that sort of $ to throw at it, then a 'reliable' 400bhp will be a pipe dream. Sure, people will tell you that it can be achieved for less $, but how long will the engine last with 20 - 24psi thrown at it

Look at what I've done so far and add up some prices (do your own research into costs) :P ...

Balanced bottom end
Lightweight flywheel
Uprated clutch
TRD main shells
Shotpeened and polished conrods (or forged)
Wiesco +1mm forged pistons
Deburred oil galleries (in block)
ARP head studs
Gas bench flowed cylinder head
HKS 264 cams
Uprated valve springs
Apexi cone filter with custom intake
Koyo aluminium radiator
Heat lagged WAI
2.5" exhaust system
Apexi Power FC programmable ECU
Profec B Spec II EBC

I still have the following to add before turning the boost right up...

GT30 turbo
Custom tubular exhaust manifold
3" exhaust system
750cc injectors
Larger custom made WAI pre-rad
Water spray for pre-rad (Cusco controller)
Aquamist water injection
Custom cold air box

Then there is the 4+ hours tuning on the dyno with a few more to go when the next stage is ready.

IMO

Very true. I hadn't factored in labour costs to that figure.

why the avcr ??
whats the point

mat egp into a egine builder and tell them to build a engine for you to do 400 hp
then pay the bill

then go to a tuner and tell him to put in a ec that will do 400 hp
then pay the bill

its really thats eazy

Get some quotes for

Block clean up with de-burred oilways
Rebore and hone (+0.5 pistons)
New main and big end shells (recommend TRD)
Forged pistons (which ever make takes your fancy)
Forged rods or OE shotpeened and polished
Full balancing of bottom end
Lightweight flywheel
Uprated clutch (a must for big power)
Gas flowed cylinder head (not a quick run over with a dremel!)
Cams of your choice
Uprated valve springs
Gasket sets for everything
Fluids

You'll need to factor in labour on top of that. Engine in and out is a couple of days work.

FMIC is pointless at the start. As I've told you several times, stock WAI is very good. If, and that's a big if, you get to 350whp, then consider a FMIC. Otherwise it is simply a bling add on with bragging rights - "My GT4 has a huuuuuuuge FMIC"

Fuel pump is advisable, but stock regulator is fine.
Injectors should only be done in conjunction with programmable ECU. Otherwise you run the serious risk of overfuelling as stock ECU won't cope.

AVCR is, as I've said before, purely for posing with.

Turbo is going to be a good 2k with another 1k for decent tubular manifold. You'll also need to factor in oil lines etc for new turbo and an external wastegate. Also don't forget a bigger exhaust
