Hold on, why not a shot gun shell primed by the door opening? Could be a lot of fun.

Run the wires thru the rollcage - drill a hole thru the floor and mount the brain and backup battery under the car in the shallowest metal box you can - last place you would be looking for an alarm. It would probably go off if you crashed it though!
