Haha, well its funny the things you find on the interent. The other night I was on car domain checking out pictures of corollas and I fond these!!





This little beast (or should I say piece) was a car tat I once owned. It was a wellington car. The story goes like this

From what I know after I sold the car it got painted up in primer, then got sold to Someone else, who i think painted it purple. The mags got changed, adn then I didnt see it for a while. It then poped up on trade me, and was being sold Dereg from some impound yard. Didnt know where it went from there. then one time in Town I see this prurple beast drive up the strip, with black number plates on it (which means its had the mean re-body)...and i havnt seen it since. Was just wondering if anyone has seen it round??

It used to be the old Tripple X machine, and looked like this, if people who are vintage visitors of the river bank car park may remeber.

You know its mine, beacuse I very roughly decided to fit the SR coupe Tail lights shown in the second pic, and that the vents on the bonnet have been deleted!

i used to see it every day on my way to work.. was sitting in a car port on axle stands with an engine sitting next to it for many many many months, and then one day i walked past, and it was gone.

It seems that the property in those pictures is in fact the same one where i saw it

Would you believe this thing may be cruising the streets of welly within a week. It's my workmates car, hes spent quite a bit of time/money on it and decided to do an engine swap himself, (from a 1.1 litre to a 1.3 or sumthin) which didnt go according to plan, it just wouldnt start. So after months of trying to fix it himself he gave up and took it too a mechanics where its been for a week or two, and the engine now runs. And supposedly will be ready this weekend.

Mean as paint job. How did you get the stripes into the paint?

haha, I remeber when I tried to chnge the engine, I had a 4k and speed all set up, put them in the car, but for soe reason the clutch wouldnt engage. Took the box off, did all this messuring, put it back together still no joy. The pulled on the fly wheel and the whole damn thing moved. Turned out the thrust bearings in the 4k were poked, i was gutted. So back went in the 3k. Now, I fail to understand how this thing has a 2k in it, nore do I undertsand why you would spend a bit of money on it, but still, it will be funny to see it crusing the mean streets again.

Ahh , the memories of that car. We did so much stupid shit in it. I remeber the time I was at a party doing tequila shots, tlaking to some guy about my car and shit that was parked on the road. I got so trashed I commed out and left my keys by my side. Woke up and the car was gone... I was like Shit. SO I called the cops and all my friends. Took about an hour for someone to locate it, It was just around the corner, the guys that took it were so drunk they over steered a corner and went into the back of a little ford laser. So I went home, got my exrta solex Key. Opened up the car, took off the surround aorund the streeting lock, unbolted the barrel and was away laughing......... I know I shouldnt tell everyone this, but these cars are super easy to take..... In stead of having the torque break bolts like most cars, it just has 2 regular bolts... Haha, and then a month later the keys that the guys took ended up in the letter box of the peoples party that I was at........

Hey Guys, im the current owner of the rola

Some back round;
I bought the car from trade me for $1500 with out even seeing or driving it, a mate did the transaction and i saw the car after i got home from work
It had a 2k in it, the wing on the back and the white thing at the front (all of which are gone)
I got new break, suspension, and exhaust for it.
It now has a reconded 4k in it which i got from sum1 on toyspeed from nelson(cam, lightned flywheel) and it sounds mint
It also has a different bonnet, and valance panel (old 1 damaged) and a sr grill.
And sad to say its still purple (spray can job need i say more)

Also the crx seats that someone put in are out and original ones are in at the moment (im a tall person and they did go back far enough)

and the night it was in town was back when it still had the 2k in, but after the exhaust, suspension and breaks had been done and the plates werent legal, they were just off a mates escort, and the ke dnt have a reg or wof, and we got pinged by the cops. so it hasnt been out of tawa since that night.
