Vented rears on ae92...

Postby soopachargen » Thu Mar 16, 2006 3:19 pm

How feasible is putting fxgt ventilated fronts on the rear of my hatch? I have gtz braking gear all round... is the piston size of the fxgt front caliper close enough to the size of the gtz rear?? I'm not in major need of a brake upgrade but i have the fxgt brakes sitting around and was wondering if it was safe to do... Will the extra thickness of the disc fit into the gtz rear caliper? I will have to get the diameter of the disc machined down to fit the caliper....

Sorry about the ramble... just wanting to bounce the idea around?
When in doubt, down and out.

But why? theres no need for it at all, the rears dont do nearly as much work as the fronts to warrant ventilated disks. Most high performance new cars dont even bother with it.

Not worth the $&#$% around with IMO.

im running australian ae102 rear discs on my ae92 hatch... do you guys call them wagons?

the disc size is a little bigger than the front, which helps bring the brake bias back a little... it didnt cost the earth either and bolted straight on...

here is a link that may be helpfull..

NVD05X - I know in OZ you won't see all of these cars... but this might help you to work out what we are talking about.
All these are AE92 generation Corolla based cars.

I used to think that the orange and green tictacs gave you special powers. The orange ones would make you stronger and the green ones would make you faster. So i used to eat some green ones and run around my lounge as fast as i could, then eat the orange ones and try to pick up the sofa. I wish it were true!
