4age bluetop problem - help!

took the sr up to hamilton lastnight and it went sweet the whole way, then drove from hamilton to tauranga in VERY heavy rain etc and still had no problems. parked up in tauranga for a couple of hours, had a sleep then started it up again to carry on home and all of a sudden it had no power under semi-heavy acceleration.

I can hold a steady speed/gain speed slowly, but as soon as I actually put my foot down it just shudders as if its surging. it seems more like an electrical problem though as opposed to fuel. it changes all the time too, it can be sweet for a little while then turn to sh*t again.
it also took ages to start this morning (from cold), i had to turn it over for about 40 seconds before it fired, and it has trouble starting if I give it any throttle while cranking.
nothing was done to the car while I was stopped in tauranga - except it got rained on a heap.

im pretty sure the computer has remained dry, i've checked all the plugs (dizzy, ignitor etc etc) and they are all connected properly. what could be causing this?
a faulty relay connection caused similar problems to this a while ago, but it would only change when I went over a bump and it would either run like crap or not. this time it only runs bad under acceleration; and only sometimes. all I can think of is the water has got into somewhere and messed something up...

where should i start looking? finally thought the car was getting pretty reliable!!

Check that all of your vacuum lines are still properly connected everywhere and that none of them are leaking anywhere.

just been home for lunch drove around the block a few times without any issues at all so fingers crossed it was just water sitting somewhere that needed to dry out

looks like the dash will be coming off sometime this week to find exactly where the f**ken leaks are coming from. i thought i found them all last time!

water/mist in the coil, mine does that all the time, i cant seem to fix it, i think ill buy a new coil for it, but im converting to evo coils, so maybe not. Pop the hood and look at it when its sitting there, i bet youll see blue sparks every now and then, especially if someone steps on the gas. Very common prob ive had, in every single 4age ive ever had

check the plug at the back of your head should be green if my memory serves me right.

The KE had exactly the same problem, was due to the clip being broken and water getting in there, off the front wheels then off the trans tunnel, quite a common thing aparrently.

This time when the head goes back on its getting taped up so no blardy water can get in there

Pop the hood and look at it when its sitting there, i bet youll see blue sparks every now and then, especially if someone steps on the gas.

sounds like thast what it was. is the blue spark a problem? My coil used to do that ages ago when my timing was all over the place and messed up; a spark would jump from the coil tip/HT lead over to the + and - terminals of the coil. now the timing is sweet I haven't seen it do it. if it is still doing it is it something I should fix?

and where does the mist sit? inside the HT lead cap and coil tip?
