What a night :(, Was in my room when I heard dad reporting a buglary at our house, went outside and saw my sisters bf's car with the boot open and sub 1/2 out, Had a look at my car and saw the rear speakers (infinity reference) were out and my rockford headunit was gone.

Called the police etc and they brought the dogs in (they were extremely helpful), we found the stash from my car hidden in the garden but didnt find an amp that was stolen.

When I thought my stuff was gone I was instantly pissed off that the speakers were so visible and not secured enough, I also didnt attach that piece of steel to the rear of the headunit so its harder to remove. Not going to make that mistake again.

So for all you people that still have your stuff, make sure its secure!

Luckily I didnt catch them and have a shotgun handy! Id be in alot of trouble!
8O

So for all you people with 6x9s that stick out like dogs balls, get a bit creative! Car didnt have an alarm either which will be installed within 2 weeks. Just happy I still have my stuff, and no damage was done, wires are a bit of a mess but still tidy. Its late and I need sleep!

Sorry to hear about that bro.

I've had that happen to me, twice.

First time was parked at a local student bar on a wednesday night, 8pm playing some pool. Came outside to find my car was unlocked. Thought nothing of it until I opened the door and the interior light didn't come on. Turned it on, then saw my glovebox was open and all my cds were taken. They tried to get the headunit out, but it was bolted down with security bolts, so instead they ripped the front of the headunit off rendering it useless. They got in by screwdrivering the pass side door lock, yet you could open the drivers side with a teaspoon or any old key.

Second time they broke into it parked outside my window, with my flatmate sleeping inside. They broke into the car (smashed window.. why didn't they just try the drivers side lock grrr) then tried to bash the ignition. After they gave up on that they broke into the house, and stole the car keys from my room. Flatmate woke up when she heard the noise and scared them away. Both times I had my 6x9s just sitting in the parcel shelf - anyone could just pull them out. I now have solex door locks, and a 4 star alarm - hopefully it will deter theft.

I don't understand why they would target my car though, it's just a crappy old galant with mismatched colour and dented body panels

Good luck tracking down your stuff dude.

Im in two minds about securing headunits...yes, a properly secured h/u may not get stolen....but what damage will they do in the mean time trying to get it out?

I say all thieves should get the death sentence, that'll sort em once and for all!

oh, guess ide better add that my radar got nicked out of my car up my driveway, was about 3am sunday morning and they decided to walk up my driveway, popped a window, set the alarm off and ran, had a car waiting out by the street

Also my first car got broken into in the school carpark, bye bye sub and amp, have invested in alarms ever since

So back to elevateskater's statement, make sure your stuff is secure and take unsecure stuff out of the car no matter where they are parked!

Can i suggest thinking about 1 thing..

IF you secure something down SO well they cant remove it.. ya think they going to leave it alone?

Id much rather someone Take my sub if there just going to get angry they cant take it and Stab it with a screw driver so it cant be used..

Id be MUCH angryer to find my headunit still there but fyucked up so it wont work.. Just get insurance IF it goes at least its replacable..

Just my opinion but its something worth thinking about.
