Drags 16th April - GET OUT THERE

Post by Ako »

Ok, well - after the really cool cancellation of the 4+R drags this weekend just gone, I think there's good call to try and get a decent showing out at the next drag meet. Its been a bit lacklustre of late to be honest!

Sooo... The next drag meeting is on the 16th of April. I'll take a wild stab and say the format will be similar to most other meetings, which means you get a full days racing (and hot dogs) for under $50, and being a street meet there won't be big delays so the big boys can run. As usual all you need is a WOF, rego, no safety issues (tyres, secure battery, no sharp edges - WOFable condition really), a good helmet, long sleeves + covered shoes. There is avgas available if you think you've got a car which needs it - or you just want a grey muffler

The drags are there for YOU to get out and race at, so do everyone a favour - get it off the street, take advantage of the facilities you have at hand here! The more people who come out now, gives a stronger case to the council to support this sport more - you have to get out there for this to happen though.

This is a great entry level way to actually take your racing off the streets if your not keen on circuit work - and a time slip is much, much cooler than a speeding ticket with "42km over the limit" written on it

Okee dokee - Darren Baker came into work yesterday arvo, turns out this drag meet is going to be run as the postponement date for the 4+R's!

So... That means a $1000 DYO prize, a skidfest the day before out at the speedway, and the major drawcard of a little pink MR2 driven by some absolute chick magnet (oh, and hopefully a couple of Pro Import cars as well  )
