Interest - Carbon Kevlar Race Seats - 5kg!

Postby Fortyone.co.nz » Fri May 05, 2006 5:15 pm

Hey everyone.

We (fortyone.co.nz) are looking to bring in some Carbon Kevlar Racing seats from a new brand we've picked up called Seibon.

Seibon are an American company who manufacture Carbon Fibre and Kevlar products in house. These are not south east asian imports =]

Their race seat comes in red or black, and weighs around 5kg. They come with sliders; no brackets. They are not FIA approved - but they are very well designed, look awesome and strong! See the images below.

And indicative price for these seats would be NZ$1,300 each. They provide huge weight saving benefits and they look excellent. And, they're NZ$500 less than the cheapest Racetech Carbon Kevlar seat on the NZ market.

I want your feedback. Interested? Good price? Good looker? The price might come down the more interest there is.

PS: Seibon also make carbon fibre hoods, bonnets, eye liners, front lips, spoilers, side skirts, air intakes, trunks and doors. If you want quotes for their other items, just let me know. Perhaps I could make it one big Groupbuy?

Bump - these might be available for NZ$999 (delivered, including GST) if there's enough interest - is this tempting?

Does the actual seat only come in the greeny coloured carbon? Cos that would be my main turn off.

EDIT* Any chance they make a front lip for a curren? Or any custom front bumper?

EDIT2* And am i 100% correct in assuming a gen5 front lip from a celica should fit a curren?

The weave is yellow and black - combining the two gives you the impression it's green in this low res photo. I'll haggle them for a better image!

I can't be 100% certain that the curren - celica will fit. Perhaps someone here can confirm if the bottom of the bumpers are compatible? Furthermore, Seibon is in the US so they would either need a template or an actual Curren to make one up - something which the US market doesn't have access to as far as I know.

Thanks for your comments - hopefully I can get us a better picture!

They look awsome. Blacks ones would look sexy. Are they very padded?

yes - more so than a hard core FIA seat, but less so than a comfy street seat.

Black is available also =]
