Because I think that is a major plus for an EBC, is the fact that the wastegate is SHUT until the boost level is reached, not slowly opening.

Am interested to hear opions on this...

(need one for my honda city turbo :P, got a gready profec in my 4agte).

Hmm... good point... i think chicken man says that it doesnt slowly open? maybe?

Is your honda city the one painted in chameleon?

Yeah, ball and spring doesn't allow any pressure to hit the wastegate therefore keeping it closed and allowing the turbo to hold a consistent boost level from lower RPM (compared to a bleed valve or factory setups).

It's the same as an EBC but without the programmability.. I had a turboXs (I think that was the brand) on my 323 and was fine, couple hundred bucks I think.

The difference is amazing though, even keeping it at stock boost levels the extra kick from lower RPM was... well, . .... amazing

i have a GFB atomic in mine, It came with a ball and spring one when i got it, i must be honest the ball and spring one worked better, Somehow, but the GFB (bleed type) is real rock solid, Bit of a spike if you put it under heavy load, but no creep when caning it in higher gears.

If it had the extra money to waste, id buy a decent bleed type and a decent EBC and compare, but i can find other things to spend my money on, like food and water :P
I had vtax :(

Thanks for the pic... i understand now... very helpfull...

I'll buy that one off trademe... yeah im sure your right about the factory wastegate bleeding thing... the fact that it wouldnt idle without a one way valve suggests its not very airtight!
