Hi trying to decide the type of spoiler
should i get the gtfour spoiler - u konw the one on raised blocks...

or should i go for a carbon fibre gt wing

the gt wing i think looks more racy... but obviously the gtfour one is design for the 205.

I recall GT420 saying that the gt4 ST205 wing produced something like 40kgs of downforce at 120kph.

I'd say you'd probably get similar if not better results with a GT wing, but many people will call you a ricer.

thats what i thought the gt wing looks pretty good, i mea you get those flimsy ones that look like they are malnourished.. but this one looks beef
if it does the same thing, ricer or not, who cares....
if it gives that kinda down force, then thats all good...

i know that he is happy to take 420 cash

i was going to get it, but consider the price.... i might as well leave it for now and work on something else

The GT4 wing is tested and proven by Toyota, the GT wing works in theory but how are you going to accurately adjust it to suit the flow of air over the Celica body? Proven performance owns rice style guess work any day.

Toyota would have developed the wing properly to ensure it actually worked - hence why it was used on their WRC cars. If you get an aftermarket wing and simply guess at how it should be set up, you are more than likely going to end up with increased drag which will = increased fuel consumption and more than likely, a decrease in downforce.
Unless you ahve proper tesying facilities, stick with what the experts have done IMHO.

Are you going to be seeing much racetrack use?

Just go with whatever you think looks best if not. Functionality is all good - but my opinion is the GT wing would look better than the factory one. It never looks quite right on the ST205 to me.

Even with the lancer evo's, which at a wild guess have had no end of development work put into their aero package... I can honestly say they don't feel any different without the wing at all until you start getting up above 150-160km/h, when the back end gets a bit more twitchy than before, nothing I'd call alarming by any means however. This is even on the late model (4-5-6-7) sort of models.

Also seem to consistently get around 2mph better trap speeds without the wing on too....

on my 205wrc, I took the wing off too see if I would notice a difference.

Acceleration was slightly better above 100km/h
But the car was a LOT more unstable at those speeds.

I promptly put it back on.

heights and its equal in height

Works better as what? If you're talking aerodynamics and wanting downforce, you'd better check out the technical specifications and actual testing on the wing by teh designers/manufacturers to ensure that it does actually create useful downforce and not just drag. You'll also probably require extensive testing (a wind tunnel would be ideal) to ensure that the wing is set at the coorrect angle.

GT wing is pure bling.
Factory wing = real world downforce.
