Funny Noise when turning left...

Hey,

My SW20 sames a strange noise when you turn left relatively slowly... please note it is only when you are turning left and generally when on an in/decline... somebody tell me its not my cv joints and just something cheap?.... please.... :(

can you attempt to describe the noise or what area of the car it is comming from?

yeah... it sound like its close to the baseof the steering colum... its kind of a groaning vibrating noise but i cannot feel much, if any vibration....

Sw20 = RWD = no front cv's.

powersteering problem perhaps. wheres the pump on the sw's mounted again?

In the frunk, sort of to the right of the battery (passangers side)

This might be valid info... it made a very similar, maybe identical noise a week or so ago when the steering wheel was pivoted as low as it could go... so i raised it slightly and the sound dissapeared... but its back...

universal in the steering colum? But if it was that I would have expected a groan, and then no sound as it moved, and then locked up.

hmm... i thought it was fouling on the firewall.... but the fact it only seems to be when the car is on an elevation seems weird...

sw20s have c/vs


but sounds like it could be a power steer issue.....
have you checed the fluid?

There is no PS belt in them.

hi, it definitely only does it when truning left... so it might be the electric motor is that correct? sorry im getting a little confused....
