Need a trustworthy mechanic in upper hutt

Postby littlescott » Sat Jul 01, 2006 9:10 pm

Hi all,

Less than an hour ago I went to start the car i just bought new plugs and a new airfilter AND had just spent about an hour or so cleaning the inside of (it was long due) and the dirty hua of a thing started squealing like a motherf**er..

Pretty certain it is an alternator bearing, all it does so far is squeal (and god is it loud), engine doens't seem any slower or laboured in any way yet.. The car also needs some other work (broken engine mount, rear wheel bearing). Tomorrow I'm going to look a little deeper into it, well as deep as I can look with a carport, 2 hours and a $30 tool kit from the warehouse.

Regardless of whether I can find out what is wrong with the car tomorrow I need to get some work done on it., So my question to you all is is there anywhere worth taking the car to in upper hutt who will do a good job quickly and cheaply? There is a fair amount of urgency required as I'm moving next weekend back into the city (welly) and I work in Silverstream, UH.

Any help is appreciated.., The car is a 97 ae111 bzr

Can't go wrong with P.E Crook. They always provide good service and don't screw you around. Plus they have the option of paying a month after the work is completed, so no need to stress over getting funds together in a hurry.

2nd'ed. Have used a few different mechanic's in Upper Hutt during the years I lived there and Shane Mendoza's place has been the best.

My whole family takes their cars there and we've never had a problem.
