Piston interchangability JZ/SGE

Postby strx7 » Mon Aug 07, 2006 9:04 pm

I recall reading somewhere that 3SGE/3SGTE pistons could be used in a 2JZ or 1JZ, cant for the life of me find it again (isn't that always the case when you want info?)

Can anyone tell me if 3SGTE pistons can be used in a 2JZGE (I want to get 8.5:1 compression or thereabouts.

My JZN130, would be alot more fun with 10psi, not that it needs it, but it'd be more fun none the less :)

Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Shane

Does anyone know if 1JZGTE pistons can be used?

Check some of the US piston catalogues for spec comparisons, there are a feww that list bore, pin height, rod end size etc floating around.

3S pistons can be used. They are same bore.

I'll have a set of 2J pistons up for grabs soon.
1 of them might be shot but the other five are fine. Only bout 130$ or so for new 2J piston anyhowz...
