Surely the guy can't be the person that stole it?

If so thats got to be the dumbest thing ever!

If I was the original owner/builder I'd be $&#$% at the guys door now!!

No, they just get distributed through mates of mates who don't mind knowing if it fell off the back of a truck. Looks like the bumper is the same one as the pic in his signature with just a bit cut off either side of the intercooler.

Heh, he even states in the ad it basically has a nz new front end on it. Which would explain the wind up windows, non air con heaterbox, 240k speedo. You don't just throw all that stuff in the boot to take home and work on so is it any wonder he wants to drive it around to the people who want to view it? Though it's hard to believe anyone would be stupid enough to advertise on trademe if they knew it was hot.

Tricky one to say really. Sure, some people buy and sell goods they know are dodgy. But others may buy one thing, then be offered all these other bits at a good rate. People go to pick a part to rip out nz stuff to put on their jappa, so its not beyond belief that someone bought something in all innocence, were offered other bits and pieces and also bought them.
Its also known that some theves (not all) are pretty stupid in their actions and assume somehow they wont get caught.
I wouldnt pass judgement on the seller just yet untill real facts are learnt...
Cant believe im still a member here.

I have a feeling that he will know or have a contact for the person who supposedly 'sold it to him'..
hes also got the front bumper, which is a bit more of a give away if anything.

unfortunately not i bought it as a leap of faith (the guy i got it off didnt build it)it has however exeded my expectations performance wise.

Hmm so based around this question its obvious this guy trying to sell actually knows and has details of the guy who he bought the stolen motor from. :P Rather stupid to put that kind of answer down. However im guessing this guy has no idea its a stolen motor... or does he?

Should be quite interesting when the police get involved!
