Power FC for 1UZ-FE

Postby loudsir » Fri Aug 11, 2006 12:48 am

Hi everyone

I am planning a project car to get straight into when I return from the UK. Thinking of doing a MA70 with a blown 1UZ-FE. Does anyone know if you can get a power FC for this engine? If not, what other options do I have for an ECU that will run off the factory sensors and not require too much in the way of ignition system modification?

Thanks!

Nope...Apexi don't make a P&P unit for the Power FC.

I know in Australia there is guys that has replacement ECUs and chips available for the 1UZ. Neil Griffiths from Rush Imports is one of those guys. He has allot of 1UZ goodies.

He's got the 6MT Piggy Backs for the 1UZ on sale and they aparently work really good.

Wasn't it the new Wolf 3D that's been tested on the 1UZ and found to be quite good aswell?

Microtech have a really, really good base map made up for the 1UZ in their LT12's. Enough that I can effectively sell it as a "plug in" unit for mild tuned engines. Bout $1600 for one.

Ako, thanks for that - Do you know how much wiring is involved in fitting the LT12 to the 1UZ? I would really like to use the factory ignition setup if possible. Would I keep the AFM for this computer or can it run with a MAP sensor?

I will def. keep you in mind when I return to NZ with my pockets full of pounds :)
