I'm well aware of the symptoms of a blown headgasket, overheating, the milky "coffee" under the oil filler and cam covers, oil in the water and all that, but I've noticed that if I drive my car to work about 2 minutes away (yeah yeah, I'm a lazy bastard!) and then back home, I get that same milky coffee crap under the oil filler.
I take the car for a longer drive, get it to heat up properly and give it a bit of a fang, the froth disappears. I pulled my breather hose off today, found it was totally blocked up with oily gunk, it also had a little froth inside it too.. is this normal? I haven't noticed the car using much water (I had to top the rad overflow up from halfway when I got it, it hasn't moved much since), nor is it overheating at all..
I'm beginning to think that as I'm not heating the motor up properly, somehow moisture is getting into the motor (it has been raining the last week, plenty of moist, foggy air) and causing this. I've also had cars that emptied their overflow tanks within about 2000km, but definitely haven't had BHGs, why is this?
Opinions? Do I have a BHG or am I just needing to heat cycle the motor more often? Where does the overflow bottle water go if it isn't the head gasket? Or am I paranoid and in need of a thorazine drip?
