you may want to include some more info, like what your problem is? or by the sounds of it you have no idea where to start indicating it may be best to take it to a pro to install.

umm, ok. I have a gizzmo launch controller that i would like to get installed into my ep82 starlet. Gizzmo have told me that it is impossible to do. Have taken the item to hotwire who are one of the few people who still install the launch controllers. they thought they could install it into my toyota, but couldnt find a wiring diagram, so they called gizzmo, and gizzmo told them it cannot be installed into starlets, so therefore hotwire didnt bother putting it in. So.......................
I have herd of other starlets and other toyota's who have had this item installed in there cars because they have figured something out, which gizzmo has not. Gizzmo claim that most of there products do not work with toyota's and holdens...... blah blah blah, has anyone got a gizzmo launch controller installed into there toyota?? and how did they/you install it.

I believe that should clear it up a bit better..
Cheers

"I read it on the internet it must be true"

Unless you have actual proof of some backyard clown getting that model going a toyota its bullshit. Gizzmo make the product, and if there is something they dont know, which would open up a massive market of people they could sell thier product to (Holden + Toyota) then they would know by now. Especially since you seem to think the information is available on little toyota forum in New Zealand.

Gizzmo designed and made the product, id believe them over "I have herd of other starlets and other toyota's who have had this item installed in there cars because they have figured something out, which gizzmo has not."

FYI the older version of the shift light works with toyotas, the new multistage something a-rather does not.

yea already new the 1st version was compatible, and that the 2nd version is not. gizzmo is bringing a 3rd version out next year which will be compatible with toyota's etc. The reason for my post was to see if there infact was anyone out there who has successfully fiddled around and installed the unit. gizzmo indicated to me that they have only ever made 1 adapter to fit a toyota, and that they would never make one again. i didnt post to get a lecture from anyone, just info on whether it has been done. people who design products still get hacked from outsiders. anythings possible.....
