r154 and supra 6 speed boxes

Postby deaf_rattle » Fri Sep 15, 2006 11:16 pm

I might be importing some r154 boxes and the getrag 6 speed from the jza80 series supra.

Just wondering how much these go for here in nz, and how much interest there would be.

cheers

Anything that fits onto the jz or m engines will be worth a little bit. But you can get adaptor plates pretty easily now, so if the price is too steep people will look for other options and you will have a few grands worth of gearboxes you can't sell.

I happen to know that Totally Toyota Auto Spares in New Plymouth, will have a number of 1JZGTE and around 8 R154's, along with a 2JZGTE and 6 cogger due in over the next 2 months.

Yeah but have you seen the prices people are asking for them now? They're getting a bit harder to find due to the amount of people smashing them behind 4AGTE's etc.

A t50 box by itself is woth bugger all,

How does it work?
A t50 box is worth $250
A t50 to A series bellhousing is worth $250,
but together they are worth $800?
