if your getting one get one thats got a 6cyl so you can get the engine mounts pull the piece of shit 1g out and put in a 2jzgte got one in chch thats a race car with 600 odd hp and it is in no way bland

Yea, just nip down to your local wrecker and pick up a 2JZ-GTE, buy two just incase, and bolt it straight in!......Dream on mate!

Ummm idnt that a completely diffrent engine... is in ones a v6 and the other is a straight? :?

The mounts wouldnt even line up... :?

The only one with 'the mounts' is the is300. Need the is300/gita crossmember to be able to run the 2jz in an is/rs200

The 1G is a straight 6 2ltr, with the FE head meaning it’s an economy engine.

To do a 2JZ-GTE conversion would be major, it’s near imposable to find one let alone come up with the $10k to purchase one. You will also need a new rear end, completely new fueling system, all the wiring nightmare and various fabrications to make it all fit, and then you’d have to go about certifying the whole lot. I would be surprised if you’d get any change from $20k and that’s after the initial out lay to purchase the car in the first place.

Would be an awesome car though! …..goes off into a day dream about sh*ting all over Mitsubishis and Subaru’s….

ps The New "Altezza" IS250/350 both run a V6

Putting a 2J in an Altezza would cost you nowhere near 20K if you know what you're doing...

And who in their right mind would pay 10K for a 2J? :?

Ok, well you point out where to find one.

And yes it would cost in the vicinity of 20 grand Mr. Know it all, I have a folder full of info (quotes, supply invoices, ect) to prove it.. I know what I am doing, Im not going to post up Bullshat now am I.

Wth that kind of money you could put 2 of the suckers in there.. or fully rebuild the standard engine with a huge turbo on the side and a polished alternator 8)

I find it very amusing when people make statements about things they know nothing about. :lol:

The amount of work needed do the lot and get it certified blew me away too! 8O My figures are very accurate as I have investigated the possibility of this conversion for some time. And in the end decided it was too costly ($18,750) to justify.

That figure is based having the job done properly by professionals, meaning everything works (aircon, cruse control, dash lights, Speedo bla bla) and the finish performed to a factory standard, not im my garage, the car was not a “old school wagon “ it was a 2001 Lexus.

Im not a steel fabricator, mechanic, or an auto electrician, as im sure some of you may very well be.

That would be a complete running motor with remote shift box, full loom and ecu for 10K easy...

I can probably see how you can manage to clock up almost 19K for the conversion if all you are doing is dropping the car and the engine/tranny etc off in a workshop and just have them do everything required to get it running. Mechanic will be able to rape you 3 ways from Sunday with labour costs. :lol:

I find it very amusing when people here assume other people know nothing.

So 20k for a drive in drive out job sounds about right. But definitely be able to cut that cost down alot if you did some of the work yourself.

have u minus'd the value of the 1g, ecu, etc ect you would have left to sell after the install? dunno how much u could get with that engine.
