Who went to the friday night drags and how did you get on, and did you find it slippery from half track on?

yeah i went i thought it was slippery from the launch pad , actually pretty much all my 60 ft times were crap . It did get better later in the night . And i am 4wd ,had to ease off on the launches. But it was good fun , first time running with the new turbo . Should deffinately dip into the 12 sec bracket next time .

Random - one of my mates with an S14 texted me saying it was real sticky, at least relative to Meremere. Did 13.6 @ 174kph which was a pb.

I was sweet on the 60ft with a 1.6, and up to half track was 6.9 at 169km but after that the car was all over the place, so had to back off so my times were 11.7 at 196kms so hoping for quicker times on the 17th.

odd, guy from work broke two axles it was so sticky, he was running hoosier dot tyres.

and for evo's to run in the 10's i doubt that pad wasn't sticky enough :? (them getting there pb's at that)

You clearly have too much power. Give some to me!
Heaps of people seem to get issues at the "far end" of the track, thought it was usually attributed to the bumps etc?!

What is your setup? ie engine, turbo, power? Sounds quite impressive.

I was there at 5 pm and my practise runs were slippery as hell ,i let the tyres down heaps and it helped a little . The track was good in my final race which was 11pm. I didnt see a single evo run a 10 sec pass.

out of interest what were ur 60ft times?[/quote] 1.8 60 ft times, must admit my tyres probably werent the best and also cant do a burn out to warm them up and there was quite a big wait between races .Check out the results at www. champion dragway.co.nz .I cant see any 10 sec passes by evo,s.

1.8 60 foots doesnt seem that slippery to me, particularly for a not overly high powered heavy 4WD.

your complaining about 1.8 60ft's 8O you on drugs?. most street evos' do around 1.6-1.8. or have you gotten alot better in the past?

yeah i know those results, they also dont show the honda civic that ran a 12.4sec 1/4, and the evo ran a 10.68 @ 196kmh with a 1.7 60ft. the site also doesn't show the times of the lambo.

Those results only show the racing times, not the qualifying runs.

My mate Dean was the one that broke both of his axles in his CRX on his first run. He was trying to break the NZ Street N/A record (launch control set to 7000rpm  ). Ended up not going anywhere and smashing his Hasport drive shafts from the good ol' USA. Time for a not so nuts clutch.

Then Andrew from Hamilton came along and wasted him with a 12.4 in qualifying. He hasn't backed it up yet though, so not an official record.

Oh and who owns the GT Sedan with the turboed motor that was racing? That thing was insane, it was still spinning the wheels passed the half track mark!!! Get some Hoosiers dude 8)
I like it
