Text language is very, very wrong. That is not English. Please do not kill English. Present education system is very bad. Present days students writing has become horrible and now English is to be converted into another language by allowing text language.

A couple of mistakes are still socially acceptable.

God help the poor misguided fool who ever walks up to me and starts talking in text talk/speak. :x

I generally don't tend to respond to texts/e-mails/letters etc if the twats that send them can't even be generous enough to write their words out properly.

In texting a certain amount abbreviation is still acceptable but normally I can't understand half the crap that people try to say...

If mobile phone companies allowed the mobiles to send more than the 160 characters (Telecom; and is it 180 chars on VF?) then do you think we would have this problem? there wouldn't be the need to cut down words, skipping vowels etc etc??

Oh and another thing... could this just be evolution? people only like to believe in this when it suits them and when they need to justify their thinking. is now not a good time for that?

In America they actually teach languages like half Spanish and half english... (pigeon-English?)

haha yeah - but at a cost. either way they going to upset some one..

its like with anyone anywhere...

Perfect example - was at work setting out a road to be sealed. residents were moaning that they wanted a sealed road. they finally getting it and then there were people saying that they didn't want a sealed road. they liked the gravel...

what ever you do here in NZ there is going to be some one that will disagree... maybe we don't like change or something.

I'm sure right now the goverment will average at about 50  (and only because of some small amount of smart people left in there).

But then they wouldn't be 'representing the people'

Well actually this country does not need "village people" (you know that stupid band) in goverment just because they represent people, general public has no idea about running the place ;). We need smart people, enterpreneurs and talented people running this country, not power hungry munters who care about only the seat in the parlament and getting rich (it is ok getting rich but running the place has to be the first priority).

With logic like that, you'd be the only person i vote for.

Problem is, the smart enteroreneurs and talented people know there are much more rewarding and enjoyable jobs out there.

sorry to hi-jack thread, just thought i'd voice that.

But I don't want to run this country (or any other) ;), other wise I would turn it into militaristic state and start conquering some other states :D. And I am not one the types of people I listed above (although I would not call myself stupid, or that I have no talents but thats other story)...

good luck to any of those students when going in to the work force.
What sort of employer would find it acceptable.

Its hilarious and dissapointing to see the amount of shite on those tv programs where peoples txts are displayed, like I see on C4 sometimes there is the txt bar running along the bottom. At some points there are no legible words on the screen at all and there is normally a lot of txt speak and gangsta language combined.... utter excrement :!: :!:

This really got to me, Bali was the principal of Rosehill college when I was there. He was the best staff member there by a mile, he completely turned the school around and gave it a half decent reputation, (its in the middle of papakura, in one of the worst neighbourhoods).

I really wonder how much (if any) input he's had in this ridiculous idea.
