does anybody have any idea of the time and cost it takes to swap a 4afe engine for a 4age engine,iv got a 97 corolla wagon???

my guess would be a days worth of work if u know what ur doing shud bolt stright in. most places chage themselves out at around $55 per hour

relatively easy if you just do engine, doing trans mission, brakes etc.

bolts straight in 4ages are alot easier than 4agzes to loom up.

cost -500 say for a complete silvertop.

labour extra, do it yourself, easy

Wouldn't it be easier just to swap over the heads.? I'm assumeing the rest of the longblock is the same and just replace the axuls as required.

I don't think it is. Plus you still have to swap over loom and ecu, which would be much easier with the engine out.

could a 4afe gear box handle a 4age engine,whats the approx price for a good condition 4age engine,what year corolla is the engine most likely to come out of.

ae101 = silvertop 20v 4age

4afe gearbox should handle it but have longer gear ratios

check trade me for engines

500-700 for a good silvertop

the c51 that resides beside my 5afe lets me do about 100km/h in 2nd.... so gay for windy roads
